Writing A Poem

Writing a poem ain’t easy, so what can I do?

Could write a sonnet, especially if I were

Wearing a bonnet. I could write haiku,

And maybe that is the best thing I could

Do – unless I try to write in rhyme, but

Do I have the time?

I think I’ll forget poetry and write a novel

But who would be my protagonist?

Surely not you? So I think I’ll give it up 

As a bad job and find something else to

Do, like stamp collecting or going to the

To the zoo, or even play monopoly, but

I could easily get fed up with that, too!
