War, what is it good for? A song will tell you the rest

Violence and poverty all the world over. Will there ever

be anything different? All we can do is pray – pray for

peace, if not everlasting, maybe for a while.

There’ll never be any peace in this world; that is what I

have heard – peace in our time, well, that has never

happened. All we can do is hope – hope for struggles

to cease, instead of getting more violence, which I am

sure is on the increase. So let us hope it will stop now,

but something tells me it won’t. So now I’ll end, but can

you do me one little favour? Just let us all pretend!
